Sports Illustrated recently released their top 10 high school athletes of the last decade . Topping the list was wunderkind Lebron James. Certainly a worthy pick for the top slot and an athlete who has easily fulfilled his prodigy status. What I was surprised about though was that the list included two track athletes: Allyson Felix and Alan Webb. There have been a couple other tracksters in the past 10 years whose prep careers could arguably warrant their inclusion to the list but Webb and Felix are definitely worthy of inclusion as they had amazing (ground breaking) prep careers and more importantly have gone on to compete at very high levels following their high school years.
