Alphabet Stew

I've been real busy with running the High Performance Center at the Olympic Trials in Eugene and have had very little time to actually see the meet. Today though, I was actually was lucky enough to be out on the infield doing a special video recording and 3D calibration for the men's shot put when I witnessed what may very well be the greatest showing of American sprint depth only feet away during the Quarterfinals of the 100m. In the span of about 10 minutes- an American Record for Tyson Gay (9.77); an American High School National Record, American Junior Record, and equal World Junior Record for Demps (10.01), a Collegiate Record for Padgett (9.89). To recap that's an AR, HSR, AJR, =WJR, CR....a veritable alphabet stew. 7 guys ran sub 10. Totally amazing. Especially considering that this was supposed to be an extremely weak year for American short sprinting. WOW. That's all I can say. I've been able to witness quite a few amazing sprint performances in my day but this 10 minute span EASILY took the cake. Can't wait to see the final.
