What Lifts Should I Do?

The lifting programs of all track athletes should be dominated by the following exercises and their variations: squats, presses, and Olympic lifts. These exercises are excellent at developing all-around body strength and athleticism. Back squats, front squats, and step-ups are examples of exercises falling into the squat category of exercises. Bench press, military press, and incline press are exercises falling into the pressing category of exercises. Snatch, cleans and jerks are all examples of exercises falling into the Olympic lifts category of exercises. The number of possibilities within each category is limited only to your imagination.
