I saw it coming with Merritt in for gold, while Jeremy Wariner took silver. I wonder what Wariner’s splits were like, the last 100m really didnt look good with maybe some slippage in form for him.

Asafa shows he can be counted on to run world record challenging times if you invite him to run at your birthday party, but not the Olympics.

Olympic Games 2008: A tie in the women’s 100m and 100m Hurdles - Is this possible?

I know it is possible but a “dead heat” in the women’s 100m final i.e. two silver medals awarded, YET in the women’s 110mH finals two athletes are shown as having the same time and two more are shown as having the same time .01 slower ie. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th are .01 seconds separation [12.64 for 2nd/3rd, 12.65 for 4th/5th and for that matter 12.66 for 6th].
They waited for several minutes yet in the hurdle race they did “manage” to separate the competitors. Are you telling me in the other example they could not? I don’t know a lot about timing but as far as I know those systems can be “set” to increments smaller than .001 [if needed and I IMO Olympics are “needed"] and that should be enough to separate competitors i.e. there should be NO “dead heats”.
