About an hour and a half before a race I usually take a small dose of caffeine. Would this be better? I’ve used them a once or twice throughout the season before hard workouts if I was pretty tired before hand and they felt pretty good.

Anyone see anything not kosher with the ncaa rules? I looked but I couldn’t find anything wrong.

Would NO2 go well for me?

Well okay here’s a little info about me, 17 year old high school senior. Sprinter / Jumper. 5’8” 160 lbs. Practice for me starts at 3 o’clock. Lifting stats around 5 and ends at 6 ish.

So far, I’m taking:

-Optimum 100% Whey in the morning with breakfast
-GNC Pro Performance Beta Alanine (yes it’s a GNC brand, but I picked up almost a month and half worth of it for $12) I take two around 12 o’clock with lunch, (each has about 800 mg) and I take two after practice.
-Creatine Right After Practice
-Cytosport Cytogainer after creatine (about 1000 calories in one drink).

I was wondering, would NO2 be a good choice to put before practice starts. Say around 2 o’clock?

Oh btw, don’t worry I have my diet and everything else in check. I get around 4000 calories (or so) a day excluding the Cytogainer. So that guarantees 4000-5000 calories a day minimum.

Thanks.

Hey, guys can you tell me if ibuprofen is bad for me to take the day after i lift to relieve soreness in my legs. I heard it doesn’t something with your muscles such as not allow them to grow their potiential. Reduces muscle gains in short.

As per request on the other forum; let's discuss beta alanine.

The question first was something along the lines of Beta being useful in only high rep situations.

It certainly does help in high rep training, but not solely. Beta alanine works well in sports/athletics where there are high or consistantly high production of lactic acid. At this time, I believe, it is somewhat unclear as to exactly what mechanism the aid comes, but more research has been coming very rapidly.

Important to a strenght/power athlete, in a study done on football players supplementing with BA and Creatine, they lost body fat, 1RM Bench and Squat went up. It has the ability to increase work capacity at certain levels, which is where your going to get improvement.

alright well I am looking to become a more explosive, more lean(cut body fat)and pretty much become a faster, quicker, athlete, my main ultimate goal being to improve vertical. I was wondering what would be a better supplement to try out? and yes i already take fish oils, flaxseed, creatine, protein supplements, ZMA, multivitamins, and I am content with my diet.

so my performance in the 100m dropped by over half a second. Despite lots of training and days to recover. I have been eating carbs but i am in a caloric deficit hence losing of weight. I have succesfully lost some amount of fat and am now at a lower weight. However performance is shit, i feel slow but don’t know if i’m faster. My question is how long will it take to return to peak performance again. one year maybe?

I decided to take the protein back after seeing a few lawsuits regarding it being laced with nandro, and I’m just gonna stick with the gnc brand or muscle milk.

feel free to delete or lock this topic.
