Mike and others,

What do people think about the tests that NASM does to screen for injuries? Is this an effective tool in your mind? I

Phoenix-
I’m not super familiar with it. In fact, I’ve never seen it done but the concept behind it seems OK (but so do plenty of other things that just turn out to be gimmicks). Is it similar in practice to Chek’s assessment? If you’ve got any info on it please let us now.

Phoenix-

Are you talking about NASM’s static postural and dynamic (overhead squat, single leg squat) assessments?

We use the kinetic chain evaluation once a month with our age group kids and weekly for our senior team. The better the balance of training the better the evaulation tends to be. I think NASM has some great things Phoenix but I would stay away from doing too much SEC work.
