What is an example of a productive session for a TJ specialist, some LJ, the day before a meet? I want to accomplish something on Friday, but not kill myself before my Saturday meet. Thank you.

NOOOOOOOOO! no long jump the day before a meet, your crazy.
If you havent accomplished enough in the offseason and early season that you need to have a hard session the day before a meet well then your in trouble.

The best thing to do the day before a meet is maybe some light tempo, maybe some light weights, I usually do nothign but thats just me.

Doing nothing the day before a meet is a lot better than killing yourself.

sprints, jumps, low volume ol's works great. something like:

2x30 standing
hurdle hops 2x10
hang snatch 4x3

either complete rest (I'm similar to pop), a light jog and stretch or high, high intensity - low, low volume work (as UT mentioned above)

I tend to do something similar to what UT mentioned but it really depends what I've done in the days preceding, what the meet schedule is like for the next day, and whether the meet is a big / important one or not. For example, if I'm really just training through the meet, I might do a med-hard metabolic day on Friday, Saturday morning do something like what UT posted, and then compete Saturday PM. If it's a bigger  / more important meet, I might do something similar to what UT posted on Friday and then Saturday AM do a lighter less intense shakeout.

No, I wasn't planning on long jumping the day before a meet. I was saying that I do some LJ but I am a TJ specialist.

This meet isn't very important, I just want to have a decent performance and not be too sore, because I tend to injure myself when sore, especially in the hamstrings.

I know that our short sprinters are doing a few intensive 200s, should I just work with them and possibly add a couple short-approach jumps on Friday, and then something like what UT posted on Saturday as meet prep?

i would not be during int 200 day before, if you do anything the day before if should only  be prep work to fire the cns or as always rest would also be good.

Yea, a couple short approaches might not be too bad, I usually stay on the very light side, thats just me though, maybe do a couple run throughs or something.
