hi, I’m looking for a pair of sprint spikes; I’m a 100-200m runner, maybe only 1 or 2 400m (relay) in a year. what type of spikes do you suggest? few years ago I had the asics cybersprint and it was very good; after that a bad experience with another ascis spike (asics ciberflash), then I switched to nike G5 (2005 model, I had good opinion) and last year I had the adidas demolisher 2 (I think the worst sprint spike ever for me).
for this year I’m in doubt betwen asics Lite-Ning, nike R2 e nike maxcat2.
I see in a shop maxcat2 and it seems very good. anyone tried this spikes? I had seen that nike changed complitely the plate for maxcat2 now it seems as it of nike celar.

I would stay with what works for you.  No need to get fancy.  I still wear the old gold/black Adidas Lightsprint from 5+ years ago.

Lewis almost certainly has his hands on a 3rd consecutive gold medal…Powell good sprinting speed….oh that is huge!

I agree with Mort. Don’t spend too much time or money on spikes if you don’t have it. They are really an ‘icing on the cake’ type of thing. Great sprinters will make bad spikes look good all the time. Great spikes won’t do the same for bad sprinters. I have some athletes that use the maxcat and like it a lot. I think they are using the superfly plate on it.

thanks for both answer; I want to save my money, don’t worry :-D. my bad experience with adidas demolisher 2 costed me only 19€ (because I found them on an adidas outlet); I had a bonus from my track club for my scores of last season and it works only for a pair of spikes in a specific shop in my town. So I should spend this bonus for my new spikes, it will end in march. I think too that spikes aren’t so important, but I need to change my demolisher because I have only problem with them..
