That’s 29’ 1” for those of us not adapted to metric yet.
Look at his non takeoff leg. It drives up to around parallel, then just floats back into the hang. If you are too aggressive in the air does it cause you to come down faster?

Is it possible that people with shorter limbs tend to do better with the hang than taller people?

I can’t think of a reason that would be the case. Mike Powell and John Moffit have both successfully used the hang and both have relatively long legs and short torsos.

Several of the eastern euro coaches I have spoken with seem to think that any sort of hitch style jumping is due to a lack of sychronicity at the takeoff between the two legs - basically you are not pushing down hard enough on the board to counter the forces of the free leg swinging up.  This theory of the hang style of jumping is similar to the no reverse style of discus.
