Hi guy’s,
I’m having a problem with my sprint technique and desperately need help. my drive phase is fine, acceleration phase feels fine but then during the transition, max-velocity, deceleration phases everything appears to shake. All i can see is the track moving up and down very fast, vibrating if you will. It’s obvious that this is a technical error i am making but i can not seem to find it. My technique appears correct (according to my coach) it feels wrong to me but i feel like the major aspect’s are correct. This would mean that it is a problem with one or more of the minor aspect’s.

So i thought I’d ask you guys for any idea’s. i realise it will be hard since you can’t see me sprinting but i have no video cam that’s fast enough to capture my feet or legs. I’ve tried every thing i could think of now it’s down to your expertise to help me fix this and get back to enjoying my sprinting.

So fire away!!!

I’ve never heard of anything like this….at least not something that happens all of a sudden. When do you feel the ‘shaking’? During flight? At ground contact? Sounds real bizarre.

I think I’ve had the same problem before. Usually happens when I start running faster than previously at top speed. I feel dizzy after. However, you get used to it eventually. I put it down to the Vestibulo-occular reflex (ear/eye reflex) which is supposed to steady your vision when your head is moving. The brain works it out eventually and settles things down.
How long has it been happening and at what part of the race?
Have you recently had an inner ear infection?

I feel the shaking the whole time, But it feel as if it originates from ground contact and just continues during the flight phase.

well i have run considerably faster then I’m running at he minute. Good idea but no.
I can feel a vibration which if i try to max-out multiple time in a session gives me a head ache.
It’s been happening for about a month now and no i haven’t had any infections for about two years (none in the ear)just a few hamstring strains (one quite recently).
As stated in my original post it starts in the transition phase and continues till the end.

hope this helps someone come up with an idea because I’m fresh out.
