We ran into the most ridiculous headwind. I couldn’t hit top speed for some reason, I think I might be afraid to test it fully in a race, so I just ran as close to it as possible. I anchored our winning 4x4 and also won the 200 and 400 with a 22.85 and a 49.77.

The wind was crazy bad! They didn’t take wind readings for the 200 for some reason but the other dashes had -8 headwinds.

How’d everyone do at Penn?
My 4x4 went 3:15.10 for Second but unfortunatly I only anchored in a 49.9 which sucks since I already have gone 50.18 open in my second 400 this season. Helps when you have 47 and 48 second legs on your team.
Heres a photo I just found..

Little bit in right knee. Little bit in left achilles. They had both been much worse in the past though. Right now there are good compared to how they were. The hips are just tight no pain.

So on tuesday and today I had the best speed workouts I’ve had since I pulled it. I can accel and hold top speed @ 100% so this weekend looks promising as long as the weather isn’t crap.

Always fun when you run times that end in .00. 50.00. What luck huh?
Running down the homestretch into wind that was -2.0--4.0 in the sprints all day probably didnt’t help.

Conference was this weekend. My hammy is still tight and my acceleration sucks, but it was good enough for a win in the 100 (11.00 -3.0 wind) and a 2nd in the 200. I had a hard time accelerating on the curve especially. We went 3:20 in the 4x4 (48 flat split on anchor) and I felt good once I got going, but I just wish I could accelerate fully. Next week is the last chance meets.

Quik- congrats on the PRs!

Yeah man, when we were standing by the blocks the wind gusted and everyone was like “damnit, there goes fast times!”

When are you planning your peak Quik, or are you just running for the hell of it?

Well since I live up North I don’t like to start my outdoor season early (like the collegiate season) because of the weather. So my first meet was apr 12th and this past weekend was meet #5 if you count penn relays. I have a meet Tues night where I plan to run the 100 200. This past week I kind tapered (and it worked since I ran 2 PR’s)to set me up for a mini peak. My next meet is May 31st (Reebok Grand Prix)where I will be running the 4x400. I will be training through that meet for 3 weeks hard and then tapering for 3 meets little at a time the last 3 weeks of June to close out my 2008 season. Still not sure if I will be running 100,200 or 200,400 or a combo.

Nice. Your work seems to be showing dividends seeing as you have already PR’d. I’m kinda glad that track is winding down for me right now. 5 months of meets makes me burnt out.

yea def. Training for and running the 400 has def. helped out a ton.I will probably keep running 200,400 indoors next year with an occasional 60. It’ll be interesting to see how my 100 goes seeing as the shortest I have run in training in the last 5 weeks has been 150 meters. Does go to show that despite the lack of speedwork I have enough speed to break 22 seconds.
What will you be competing in at NCAA’s?

Nothing as of right now, haha! This season was so filled with injuries that conference was the first time I was able to run at anything close to all out. This weekend, provided the weather is good, I should qualify for the 100 at least and our relay has a small chance too.
