all american requirements?

I was looking at the NCAA Division 1 results where they listed the All-Americans.  Most events listed 8 athletes as all american but some like women’s LJ listed like 10.  What is the story on this?  I thought it was top8.

It’s top 8. I believe if their are foreign athletes in the event, they either don’t get All-American status or they add on to additional spots.
