I run open cos it helps me stay relaxed.

Wouldn't it be better to simply run with your fingers relaxed as opposed to open or closed? As long as you're making sure that your thumb is on top and the wrist is kept tight, that seems to do better in my opinion.

yeah, but if you can keep relaxed fingers and still keep them open.  I do.  It's all about feeling.
