I ran into this board while looking for info on training for basketball such as, speed, endurance, pretty nice board.

My question is, when I am training for basketball speed, should i just be focusing on lengths to 30 meters max, since the basketball court is only 27. Also how often do you think I should run and how I should split it up sprint/conditioning wise.

I was thinking maybe 3 days of sprints and 1 day of sprint endurance?

Also, any good articles on running form?

Thanks for help.

Do a search. I had a post on this. Read the FAQ's also. Conditioning should come from playing full court.

You could use agility drills as warm-ups to a practice or shooting around. Use common sense in thinking up the drills.

Start out with 1 speed workout. Something like 10x10 M.

I would get rid of the downhill sprints, you're opening the door for possible injury or bad habits.

I'm also not exactly sure why a basketball player would have to/want to do buildups.

others?

When you say intensive and extensive running are you referring to them as defined in the FAQ section of this site (I ask because I know people from each sport have their own "langauges")? If so, I think what you have looks fine.
