just came to say i improved got a pb 2 weeks ago on 100meters.Im pretty slow now so i went from 13.74 to 12.69secs.I will get to 11 soon hopefully.Seems like i still need to get my soleous muscle healed thoug, but in the meantime it is fine as is in training. My endurance is still crap but better nontheless….Now for my question,i'm unsure about working out to maintain speed so do i stop and stick just to sprints to become faster or lift weights and leave it to winter time?
A side not here my 300m suck and are hard to run for me,coach makes us run a staggered run where one is ahead of the other, and we have an asian person who runs 11.26m for 100 and he starts at the back and beats us hehehehehe, but hes got good endurance 22.3 for 200m and 50.3 for 400m and hes only 16 but hey everyones different
should i workout in the summertime lifting weights and all.Or drop weights and do only sprint session and training on the track and leave until the winter time to lift weights?....I'm just trying to find means for diminishing my times faster,But im being to ambitious:bounce:
heh, we just had our regional meets for state qualifiers in Kansas…and we got a kid who ran 10.19 who's also the 4x100m anchor for his school. and I get to race him >_<
just ran today and improved my pb…It was low key race but now its 12.5 HT for the 100m….hmmm i have'nt peaked yet apparently i keep lowering my times by .2 every few weeks i guess. To bad season is ending quick…..Oh and yeah i have'nt done weights yet, i cant find the time always doing something.
Note to self: never start heavy weight training at the end of the season. You'll be sore by the time the competition comes. Start weight training a week or two after and go from there. You'll need time to adapt and adjust and then you'll start seeing improvements next season.
Don't stick with one form of training year round. Progress along from one emphasis to another (or conjugate method) and make sure to load/unload properly to avoid burnout, staleness and to allow for proper supercompensation.
