since we had a thread about good books to read….i figured since there is soo much garbage out there on track and field and strength training lets start a thread on books not to read and books that we’ve read that were complete nonsense. id like to start but unfortunatley i havent read many books yet….

Sport Speed by Dintiman and Ward and Explosive Running by Yessis are two books I’d definitely avoid. You should see the pictures in the Yessis book…..they are more like illustrations of what should NOT be done than what should be done.

to be perfectly honest i cant stand the runners world magazine…it makes us look like idiots. today i was in a bookstore, and runners world magazine had been quoted as saying Lydiard was the greatest running coach of all time. the very next book i picked up quoted runners world again…saying that Daniels was the greatest running coach of all time…
