3. Coach/father—have four kids, 15, 13,11,8. Three of them are into track and field the last 1-1/2 years. Never did organized track/field myself as a youngster(I’m 51) But since the kids have started, my dad(their grandfather) told me he did 10.8 in 100m in China back in 1935 and HJ 1.9 meters. So now I know where the kids got the talent.

Nice resume mike, quite lengthy too. I’m wondering though, did you ever compete as an athlete, and if so what’d you do and how good were you? I’m just curious really.

I was a mediocre (~6k) decathlete who had the misfortune of going to a small school with practically no coaching and less facilities for 3 years but lucked out because my school record will probably stand the test of time since the school has since dropped their men’s track program. I finished my eligibility at Ohio University where I spent most of my time rehabbing from a major surgery and other various injuries developed from years of overtraining.
No formal education (aside from high school biology, these boards, and whatever I can read), hoping to take some form of biochemical science in university next year

But I haven’t ran a race in a year. (WI USATF indoors are in 2 weeks though!)
Track is my main love, but I also dabbled in martial arts when I was younger and I cheerleaded for a year too in HS. (BTW- I am a guy. People sometimes get confused when I bring up cheerleading)
I’ve been training for about 2 years now. Seriously for about 6 months.
No sports education. However I read many books, websites and partake in forums. I plan to major in something like kineseology or something of sorts.
I’m looking to become a certified trainer later in my life.

PB- 100m: 12s flat FAT. other events are not official so I don’t want to post them.
I find an overwhelming joy in sprinting. However, I also play fast-pitch softball(Centre Fielder*best fielder in the entire league), I partook in martial arts, mainly Tae Kwon Do,during my earlier years, and I do Downhill biking.
I’ve been training for about 9 months and within that period, the last 2-3 months have been intense.
