I’m brand new to this board, but have spent lots of time reading through all sorts of posts that have been extremely helpful for me.  I run collegiately and have a pretty big meet this weekend…as a matter of fact this is my last chance to qualify for Nationals.  The problem I have is that the workouts our coach gives us are not very good as we have a good amount of talent in our sprint squad, but we never perform well.  So basically I’m wondering what is the best set-up for me this week in order to have the best chance at qualifying in the 55H.
My best races were the first meet of the year while I was making my own workouts, but have steadily gotten slower each week since.  I ran 8.23 in the 55H, 22.9 in the 200, and 51.3 in the 400 way back at the beginning of January, which still stand as my bests of the year.  I need to run 8.14 which I know I am more than capable of as I was a sub-15” 110 hurdler last year.
So, if anyone has suggestions for how to set up my training this week in order to shave .09 off my time that would be extremely helpful.

At this point you’re best bet may just be rest. The effect of a week of training is often not seen for 7-14 days after the week. As such, what you do this week training wise will have little effect on your performance this weekend. As above I’d just suggest lowering volume a little bit and getting good rest throughout the week. This will ensure you’ll be able to run as well as possible given the preceding circumstances.
