hurdles, ran over 42s.  all i gotta say is i got work to do.  5'9"  isnt a very good height for this race i dont think.  my rhythm was all messed up.  on a bright note, doug took some starts outta my blocks and looked much better.  the strength hell be gaining will make this a much better start for him.

for weights i did
squats up to 115x6
4s4r pullups (palms towards me)
bench, 4s4r@80
rotator cuff stuff

and from now on ill refer to rotator cuffs as 'taters'

oh and another thing, training with a partner is awesome.  ive completed almost 3 weeks without missing a day.  for those of you who have kept up with my journal, that unheard of in my offseasons.  i cant wiat to see how my consistency affects my training.

doug bugged out on me so well do scheduled training starting tomorrow and today i just went down to the track and did a warmup and some form fixing.  i think i finally know how arms help your running, i pumped my arms in a wider ROM and the feeling of freedom was huge.  anyways, hills tomorrow.

100, 200, 300, 400 x2 with 2 min rest

these were at a slow 20, 40, 67, 90 second pace.  only one was slow, the 2nd 200, simply because i cant judge my speed.

i just did some cleans

GPP:  overall GPP went well.  i didnt miss any workouts, except two weight workoutouts.  its kind of understandable though because there is drama in my life that i dont put in my journal.  i tried to experiment with varying the stimuli in the workouts over a long period of time, but i dont think it worked well.  in the next meso i will have double days, where i work two different kinds of speed work in one session.  i think this will work better for me.

dougs training is coming along nicely.  i dont have him liftin anything much over 100lbs yet, but im taking weights slow with him.  his technical issues are still present, and i hope to have those solved soon.  he has excessive backside mechanics, which limit his knee height, and also likes to take choppy steps to begin with.  that combined with the fact that hes just not that strong physically has hindered him quite a bit so far i think.  on the good side, i think he has a lot of potential in the strength department, and his mechanics are slowly getting better.  hes also learned the form on squats and bench well, though his bent over row sucks.  i decided to have him do pullups instead.  i also taught him to deadlift properly, and i will start using that more.  i may teach him cleans in another 4 weeks, well see.

with doug gone on vacation i finally missed a running workout.  as mentioned before, i have drama, and i havent been able to eat or sleep properly in days.  i think the clean is good for doing on my carpet, i think lifting on the rubber at my school gym can add roughly 10-20 pounds, which means im on track to tie my power clean PR.  with the way things are going, i might not head off to college as soon as i would have under other circumstances, which means ill probably tear the carpet out of my weight room and make it into a real gym of sorts.

its slightly embarassing to post this, but i thought it would be good to show where im really weak.  tabatas werent that bad, but i couldnt help pacing myself.  on a worse note, im at a loss of what to do now.  if someone hurts the woman you love, what do you do? my first instinct of course is to go beat some ass.  if i had been there i have no doubt i wouldve torn apart anything and everything that stood in front of me getting her out of there.  but on the other hand, im not sure if i want to continue the family tradition of going to jail at least once.  and she doesnt want me to go tear these people down either.  i dont know what to do, because i cant respect myself knowing that i did nothing, and yet i dont want to upset her.  ill talk to her again today, though i dont know if ill bring up the subject, because we had a somewhat upsetting conversation last night.  this is a time when i really feel out of place, where i feel the right thing to do is what will get the least results.

Sounds like a complicated situation, so I will trivialize it down to a little quote.

"Sometimes, doing the right thing aint doing the right thing."

What do YOU think needs to be done? I dont exactly know the details of the situation, but I'd rather do what I think is necessary and be able to live myself instead of always listening to other people (I am a bit stubborn though, so take that with a grain of salt). And there's nothing wrong with family traditions. In all seriousness though, if something that you're thinking about doing is something that'll land you in jail, then it'd probably be best to avoid it. Of course, if you dont get caught doing whatever your doing, then it's all gravy.

I'm sure I've probably confused you more than you were, but I figure giving you something to think about would probably be the best way to help.

thanks for the input C.  i havent spilled the specifics because i dont think its appropriate.  i feel my choices are limited to a) nothing, b) make her take legal action, c) beat the crap out of those involved, or d) b and c.  c will likely end up with me doing some kind of jail time, whether its small or large.  i dont like that scenario, though i feel b and d are the best options.  she hasnt cooperated with my suggestion of b though, and thats one of my problems.  i could take things into my own hands, but given our current fragile situation and not knowing the full consequences of my actions, im hesitant.  tomorrow ill talk to her about it if i can get a hold of her, i didnt get much of a chance today.  i called her right before i did my training.  she mentioned it, but didnt elaborate, so ill see tomorrow.
