I found some old newspaper clippings from high school the other day and it got me reminiscing. I thought it'd be fun to hear about everyone's most memorable race. Maybe it was when you won state, maybe it was when you finally beat your cross-town rival, or maybe it was that time you dropped the baton. Whatever it was, let's hear it!

My most memorable was when I ran a 2:29 800m weighing about 225 pounds. It was a 30 second p.r., and the second to last High School race I ever ran.

My most memorable race.......was when i got 3rd at D3 natonals in the 55meters and pr'd with a 6.37 there.  I had lost the best coach in the world (JJ) to D1 smile earlier in the year and finally put everything he taught me together and ran very well.  Very memorable.

My most memorable race was back in 03', our national champs here in st. lucia.  I was 16 at the time and i was sent up to the senior division(20+) to compete.  I won both the 100 and 200m, beating the fastest guys on the island at the time.  I became the fastest man on the island and the age of 16.

i was competing in the otago halls of residence 1500m, had ran in the 4 x 800m moments before, and i decided to give it a go. only my 3rd ever 1500. two guys boke away at the start, and i was right at the back of a huge field, honestly had to go into the eigth lane to get near the front!! slowy work my way through the field. one of the two at the head of the race cracked, and the other gained a huge lead. i was in second place with 500m to go, but he had (honestly) a 100m advantage. no lies at all. i kicked for home there, not actually thinking, purely on instinct. i caught him on the final bend, and swung past him into the second lane down the home straight. clawed a 5m lead over him, then managed to hold it till the finish. it almost killed me. man i got drunk that night.

my sophmore year our school had our annual blue and white meet  where we combine the boys and girls teams to make relays 2 guys and two girls on each. im the final leg on my team and my gf is the final leg on the other, we had matched up in the 4x800 before this and i smoked her so she was hell bent on beating me in this. she gets the baton for the 4x400 almost 100m ahead of me i went all out for about 120m and then coasted and pulled beside her with 50m left.  when she saw me she started to lift so i stayed with her, but right at the line i let her win, my team ragged on me for weeks me for it but lets just say she thanked me for it later

Favorite race to date was the 1000 last year at IC4A's during the Hep.  I was setting in second and had no shoot at first but had three people real close in points behind me.  The race was real tight up front till 300 to go. The three that where behind me in points where all on my ass. Everyone started to surge,  came through the 800 at 2.18, then dropped the last 200 in 25.  The pain was awsome.

This may sound odd, but my favorite race is one that I lost. It was this past year at the indoor conference championships. I had a pretty good but friendly rivalry with Dante Daniels from the rival school going. My freshmen year I won the 55 and he got 2nd, but outdoors he won the 100 and I got second.

I had just PR'd and qualified for nattys in the 55 and was pumped up for the 200. I was in lane 3, he was in 4, so I chased him down the backstretch. When we got the to curve I passed him and was feeling great when I start hearing him behind me and then next to me and then passing me. I tightened up like Asafa and he ended up winning. He had a hell of a finish. I ended up PR'ing with a 22.33, which isn't too shabby for an indoor flat oval imo smile
