A week into the season and nobody's posted? I'll start it up then.

My times were pretty decent given that I injured myself in the process.

55-6.56
200- 22.98

My trainer thinks my piriformis is strained and is irritating the nerve. Its the first time I've ever had piriformis/sciatic pain, so as long as I get it rehabbed, I'm not too worried about it.

How'd everyone else do?

Well how did we all do?

I did alright..
Opened up a 3 weeks ago in the slowest I have opened in since high school 23.11 and after making DRASTIC changes to my training this week dropped down to 22.78. 55 sucked but still better than the other 2 dashes I ran this year. 6.74.
(PR's indoors are 6.63/7.16 and 22.54)

My sciatic/piriformis was messed up all this week so I was on a bike for my workouts. Needless to say, I didn't have a lot of "pop". I ended up running a 6.58, but felt rather weak and dead while doing it. The rehab on it is getting it healthy though, I haven't had nearly as many shooting pains as last week.

Picked a horrible time to run injured though. The 55 was won in a 6.48 and it would have been nice to race him healthy.

This is mn_highjumper… I had troubles getting into my account and have now changed to multi-jumper… just a friendly reminder like in every post that I'm female…

Our coach decided we needed to start our jumps from a much shorter approach at the beginning of the season (13 steps instead of 17… some athletes only get 11!), so I am content that my marks are about the same as they were this time last year…

Week 1:
LJ: 5.19m, or just over 17'
HJ: 1.59m, 5' 2 1/2"
4x400 split: 61.6

Week 2:
no competition this week

Week 3:
TJ: 11.00m, 36' 1.25"
HJ: 1.58, 5' 2 1/4"
4x400 split: 60.75

Not sure whether coach is going to let me do the pentathlon we have scheduled for next week or if they are going to keep me in the jumps and 4x400 since I'm close to qualifying. I had a bigger triple jump that scratched by 2 inches (bigger by at least a foot), and that is still from 13 steps so hopefully I have some big things ahead of me. The last 2 times I've run the 4x400 I've only been good enough for our B squad, but my time from week 3 finally made the A team, so I'd like to be on that next week. I have a feeling we are going to drop from 4:00.xx to 3:56ish… maybe to 3:50 by the time nationals roles around… we have two girls capable of running 56s, they just haven't been put together with a good race yet…

This is the first week we haven't trained through. The highlights:

*60m-2 PR @ 7.04 and 6.97 respectively; 1 w/ near PR at 7.03
*200m-2 PR @ 22.32 and 22.53 respectively
*500m-school record 1:03.28
*4 x 400m-3:15.78….this was good because we're without our fastest leg (giving up about 2.5 seconds).
*Pole vault: 4.90 seasonal best

It was 3 weeks of totally different training without competing. It certainly made a difference.
All "intensive tempo"/submax speed end no short speed work whatsoever. Nothing over 95%. Nothing with full recovery.

I ran a 1.5 second pr in the 400 at the Terrier classic this past weekend. 47.52. I had to redshirt all of last year indoor and outdoor becuase of a pretty bad hamstring injury so its really nice to have a big PR like that coming off of injury.  I dont post on here much, mostly just roam around learning new things. Random question for QuikAzHell… i think i saw you at the meet, i dont know your face but i saw someone wearing a hat that said QuikAzHell sooo im going off on a limb here haha and i just figured it was you
