Wouldn't it be great if we had a fall track season? It would beat the monotony of training day in and day out without anything to look forward to (at least in the immediate future). [br][br]Wouldn't it be great if we had a fall track season? It would beat the monotony of training day in and day out without anything to look forward to (at least in the immediate future). The key in making it successful would be in differentiating it from indoor and outdoor track season. In fact, in my opinion indoor and outdoor track are too similar as it is and this potentially sets up problems with periodization, makes the sport difficult to understand by casual observers, and because participation is lower for the indoor variation it makes the covered version the bastard stepchild of the two. My proposal for a fall track season would be to make it a giant version. . .

What do you think? Perhaps there could be 5 events to keep it simple with winners given to event winners and the over-all / all-around champ.

hallelujah,  i´d love it!  with those events one could actually peek in acceleration etc.  before moving on in the plan.  would be really motivating.

With the extra time that the meets would throw on to of my already busy class and training schedule, it would be pretty hard for me to get the motivation. While I'm sure I would go to a few meets, the fall is when I pad my GPA with extra credits so I don't have ot take a full load during the season. So until I'm out of college, a fall season is of little interest to me.

This is what I was thinking too. It would fit very appropriately within a standard training scheme. I'd love to see some of the marks put up if every school in the country competed. I'm sure we'd see some ridiculous jumps, throws, and 30m times.
