In my experience SLJ and SVJ tend to be correlated with 10-15m speed but after than show little to no relationship with sprinting performance. That's why I don't test both….they are somewhat redundant for what I am looking at. Powerlifters tend to have great SVJ but most can't sprint worth anything. In my experience I'd only be concerned with a SVJ if it's less than 30". The guidelines fof SLJ aren't so clear as an athlete's anthropometry (especially leg length) singificantly affects the results.

Well, leg length can…but our top LJer here is about 6'5 + with looooooong legs and cant slj 3.10m while his vert is actually very good…

i totally agree with the correlation with the 10-15m speed, that would indicated why i am fast over that distance and also have alot of power, but over a longer distance am not as fast….many others like that as well….

The path to mastery will have many bumps in the road. Never lose sight of the goal. 8 metres.

This is very unusual. In my experience, taller guys are typically better at the SLJ but actually seem to have a very slight disadvantage in the vertical jump.
