which do you think is more valuable to a sprinter/power athlete?

on one hand reg, deads developme max strength more and hence have more potential to develop power…

but Rdl's seem to be more sprint-specific since they target the posterior chain more…

which would you use? would use both: use reg. deads as an ME exersise and Rdls as assistance or vice-versa? or would that be too much cns stress in a sprint program? or would you do one of the tw as an ME?

I actually rarely deadlift. I prefer to use squats to develop max strength and since I Olympic lift practically every session deadlifts seem to redundant / similar to the pulling movements used in OLs.

I use RDLs or variations of them 2-3 times per week. I think they are a great exercise for developing the posterior chain (as are regular deadlifts).

i agree no need for dl when doing ol's from the floor. i would probably perform rdl's once a week depending on the time of year.
