Can I use sprinting spikes for TJ? I heard there is a heel to toe action, and that might be painful with Sprinting spikes. All I have is sprinting spikes (that I LJ with) and high jump spikes.

To be honest a lot of the tracks around me are asphalt, but the bigger meets are rubber. I really don't want to spend more money on another pair of spikes until I know that this is an event I can accel in. I'm only a sophomore in HS and have never attempted a TJ.

The coach said I could defenitely try it since I took 1st in HJ and 3rd in LJ (first time ever longjumping) in the last meet.

I would definately at least get some heel cups to give your heels some extra padding.  Triple jump is a very heel-bruising event, and I’m not sure if you’ve ever had bruised heels, but I can tell you as someone that currently has them that it’s not overly enjoyable
