Congrats to Alan Webb for his excellent run in Belgium today. His time: 3:46.91breaking Steve Scott's 25-year old American Record of 3:47.69. That's a serious 'medal-contender' type of time….the first in a long time for American distance runners (at least American born distance runners). Great job Webb. We've now got a pretty awesome 1-2 punch between Webb and Lagat.

really glad to see him live up the the potential we saw in 2001.  The pressure got to him but the mark of a champion is perseverence through struggles and it appears that he has done so this year. Now we just have to wait and see if he gets the monkey off his back at worlds later this year

He's been showing flashes of the potential since his big run in 2001. He had a great 5k last year and a couple very good 1500m so far this year.
