hello everybody. i'm female and i'm finishing high school. more than anything else i would like to go to study in USA. but not just study, i would also like to train and compete for some D1 track and field team in university. but here is a problem, that i am not very good athlete. i am a jumper, and my results are 17 feet long jump and 35.5 feet triple jump. is studying in USA an option? but i don't want to compete in some lower divisions, because only D1 is my dream. and if i can't go in D1, i won't go in states. so, do i have any chances? or it would be better for me to forget about it?and also, which university would you recommend me if i have any chances? and what should i do now, send mails to university coaches or what? i'm very hard working and would do everything to make me better.

you would be able to compete in D1 but not at the top level and most likely without a scholarship a good friend of mine jumped 18 feet as a junior in hs and didnt get a single offer but she is at buffalo now and she will be on the team and she is there best jumper so you would be able to jump you just wouldnt be the close to the best

Wait - there isn't only one level in D1? There are different levels? I didn't know that. I thought that whole D1 is the best university level. How far do you think I should jump to get chances for some scholarship? Because without scholarship I probably can't save enough money for studying in USA.

Yeah, I know that they are much better than me… So, do you have any ideas which university would be best choice for me?

I'm not sure I know of any that would provide a scholarship if you are not jumping at least 5.50m
