the drills are described accurately, or they can be seen on just about any video.  i still think the speed dynamics videos are the best.

the question is are you really improving speed just by doing drills?

I think drills are a good way to teach concepts, and work on specific muscle strength and endurance as well as great for dyanmic mobility.

I for one know that after doing drills for years and years as an athlete and a coach, I can go out right now and do some drills that look very pretty, but I can't sprint fast at all.

The key is, is there technical mastery at race velocity?

Tellez was not a "drill" guy.  I believe he simply had them run technical buildups at ever increasing speeds and made technical corrections as he saw them.

So I use drills all the time as part of our warmup for their mobility, and plyometric values.  I also try to tie them in to what I want to see when sprinting.  But it is the sprinting that makes them faster, and it is the sprinting where the major faults must be recognized and corrected.

Thanks for the informative reply Ron.

I'm planning on using them mainly in warmups and circuits.
