Lower Limb Alignment during Takeoff

How significant during plant of the takeoff leg must the knee be aligned directly over the foot?  Is it more a case of CM position with respect to the plant on the board?

I’m more concerned with the athlete having a nearly straight leg and the leg being only moderately in front of the athlete’s COM.
