Has anyone taken a look at the early signees for class of 2004 track?  I'm looking at USC thinking their girls team is going to be a serious competitor next year already….

Jasmine Lee
Jessica Onyepunuka (I know this chick personally…she ran 11.31 at Youth Nationals last year)
Lionel Larry (guys team gets another addition)

Mike, what's up with LSU?  I didn't see any big names sign early with you guys yet.  Huh????

I just wanted to start this thread b/c I'll be updating soon….especially when I sign b/c I know I'll be running somewhere next year.

What about Ivory Williams down in Texas? Anyone think he'll break the 100m high school record? 10.27 as a sophomore, wind-aided 10.15 last year even though he was injured all year! I think he has a shot at it.

Isn't the 100m record like 10.09 or something?  As long as it's in the 10's I say he'll break it for sure (barring injury or bad training…highly unlikely in Texas LOL ).

10.27 as a soph and 10.15w his Jr. year…I see it getting broken if all falls into place…if not him, I'd say J-Mee Samuels from NC might have a chance….MAYBE.

Does anyone know what Xavier Carter's going to do about college?

this is football, but u can find some track guys in the rankings. Ivory and Xavier are both recievers. It looks like Xavier's main sport is football.

Ivory's a senior this year? I think Carter is going with football.

Do you all know who Edorian McCullough is? He was a CB at Texas, but left because of grades. He ran a 10.0? wind-aided, but was a year older then everyone else. I think he's in Juco for football right now.

We rarely ever do. In fact the class that we're getting in (the same one you're wondering about) is about as good as we've had in a long time.

OK, mike.

Carter's an idiot for going with football because he has all the potential in the world to become an Olympian if he wanted.

I remember hearing about Edorian McCulloch, but haven't heard about him in awhile.

Just curious, but how much money do the top 10 100M US runners make? That's at least one reason to go towards football. Also if I had the choice I'd pick football because I enjoy it more.

McCullough had to leave Texas because of grades. I think he's still playing at a Juco and will probably show up on one of those teams that loves jucos like KSU.

Too much of a chance for injuries in football and short careers make it not-so-attractive to me.  But that's my opinion.

I see where you're coming from, but wouldn't you make more $ in a few years in the NFL than in track. You can get injured running track too. If you're scared about getting hurt than you shouldn't be playing football anyway.

That's true.  i see where ur coming from

I just find more glory and pride out of running a fast race than hitting other guys for no apparent reason but to compare muscles.
