Does it make a difference if you train indoors for the outdoor season ? because of weather etc…

i understand the wind or climate might be something you would want to get used to...but if you only competed in the warmth would that make a difference?

what about the different track surfaces, i have always felt much faster indoors that outdoors, is that because i never really get used to an outdoor track?

thanks

If you dress for the weather, everything else is mostly all in your head.

As far as feeling faster indoors, it could be that you’re watching the walls go past quickly. Outside, the only objects you see are far off and don’t seem to be moving very fast. Just a possibility.

Unfortunately the foot of snow and the ice are not in my head.

To answer the question, depends on what you have indoors. If you have an indoor track facility, only thing I can think of is approach length, i,e, if your approach outdoors is longer than what you have as space behind the board/s. If you don’t have that, and are improvising, you should make sure the runway is not too hard.
