I have ran track & field for 5 years and I’ve never really understood the term “power sprinter”. What is the definition of a power sprinter and what is the alternative term for someone who does sprints, but doesn’t fit this criteria. I’m a 400/200 runner who runs the first half of the 400 around 22 does that make me this “power sprinter”?

I’ve never seen the term concretely defined but it always seems to describe someone who is very aggressive and not really fluid. I wouldn’t get caught up in terms like these as I don’t really think they would affect training much if at all. I think nowadays, the term is primarily used to sell spikes.
