I digitalized an old documentary of the late 80´s. A lot of jumps from some meets and the 87 WC. It has an extremelly interesting footage, specially about Emmiyan, it´s very rare to find a jump of him on the net and here he appears in slow mo side and front view, it´s ideal for the other thread of the take off mechanics.
Featuring:

Larry Myricks
Robert Emmiyan
Mike Conley (long jumping!!)
Carl Lewis
Galina Chistyakova
Heike Drechsler
and lots of other jumpers of that era

Lots of slow mo and some really old biomechanical analysis. The documentary was made by the head coach of Köln University. It´s in spanish but it´s really worth to watch.

I wanted to add that Mike Conley was a great long jumper. Easily the best combo (LJ-TJ) guy in history. He was also a really good sprinter. Many people thought that he was capable of jumping 60+ feet.

The path to mastery will have many bumps in the road. Never lose sight of the goal. 8 metres.

I believe that 58ft jump was wind aided (although unoficially).

By track and field news ranking standards easily. Conley was an Olympic and World Champion and had multiple medals of other colors at those meets too. Beckford had 3 major championship medals and they were all silver.
