Agreed.  Not new.  This is a muscle energy technique (MET)...isotonic eccentric contraction method.  It’s good to get this kind of stuff in the news though as there are many methods to improve flexibility which are better than vanilla static stretching (which sucks IMO).

Yeah…it’s amazing how many of the “new” therapy and training techniques are really just repackaged old or pre-existing ones.

This is exactly what Mr. Gambetta talks about in many of his blog entries.

I agree with what you’re saying Mortac. It is nice to see good info get “out there”, but staking claim to an old idea ruins a lot of credibility imo.

I would guess that a lot of the ‘inventors’ may not even know what came before them and they actually believe that they have a novel idea.
