So with all the rest i took in Europe for 3 weeks…

Can you explain the huge loss in speed and power UT?

UT I think the opposite is more likely to yield better results. Nick experiences huge endocrine drops if reduces training intensity dramatically. Evidence to support this assertion may be found in both of his trips to Europe where the training intensity was reduced and had a negative effect. In particular the weightroom stuff. There may be other variables to consider, however I think this is one thing were there is a pattern developing and is probably easier to manage.

Short warm up
dynamic flex
sprint drill

4x30m build ups (80%)

1x200m @90% (22.50)
2x150m @80% (6 min rec) (17.46, 17.52)

GS circuits x12

I think my body is getting used to the volume of training again. I felt a bounce today that i haven’t felt in 3 weeks. My 30m build ups were faster than any all out 30m sprint i’ve done in 3 weeks as well. The workout was really hard, it was soooooo hot today…But i did better than i expected. For the first 200m, i ran the first 50m hard and then relaxed through the line. It was actually the fastest 200m i’ve ran under any circumstances ever…

Good day.

AM)
Short warm up
dynamic flex
sprint drills

3x (20,30,40) w/ 2,3,6 min rest)

2x (LLL,RRR,LRL,RLR,RRL,LLR)

PM)
Clean - 3x2, 3x1 @92.5%
Complex: Deep squat - 6x3 @85% + stiff legged jumps - 6x8

DB bench - 6x3
hanging abs - 2x8
MB throw - OHB x8

The AM session was brilliant. I am finally back to my best now…i ran some really fast times and felt bouncy and explosive all the way up until the final set, then i got tired…Took a nice rest and then hada super bounding series. What a contrast to the last 3 weeks. And amazing that i always seem to be at my best when the training volume is high…hmmm!

I’ve decided not too actually…

i think for my development purposes it’s more important for me right now just to get as good as i can and be in the best environment as i can until i reach the level i need to be at…

Long warm up
Static flex
dynamic flex
hurdle drills

Short approach LJ - 2x (11,13,15 strides)

Weight circuits - x10
GS circuit - x12

Easily the worst ever jump session that i’ve had in my life. I couldn’t jump beyond 6.80m from any run up today. 3 years ago i jumped 7.65m from 16 strides…today 6.80m from 15…im amazed and confused…my leg nearly gave way on 2 of the take offs, technique and run up were horrible as well….

Over the last 3-4 weeks…the one thing that hasn’t yet come back to me is long jumping…speed is somewhat back, bounding and lifting are at PR levels…

I have no idea why my actual event has gone a stray…

I expected what i usually do during a high load period…at least 7.30m from 15 would be nice right now…I had nothing in my legs…i felt really tired during lifing last night as well…

I will just wait until we unload more and by the 11th hopefully ill be fresh to jump something…

I don’t have much experience with the event yet, but the way I see it, performance in it oscillates like a wave, and a lot of stuff brings interference to it - changes in speed, strength, endurance, mindset etc. So, while it seems low to you now, it might go up very fast, faster than 1/2 of the period of the wave, because of the planned, although somewhat unpredictable, interference.
