Yeah man i know…its there, i just can’t put it all together at the same time…

When i foul, technique is there…when i dont foul technique sucks…yesterday i didnt foul but was back to horrible landings where my butt scrapes 2 feet before my feet or my right foot hit a foot before my left…

I dunno why i haven’t yet found consistantly good technique…I have found consistantly poor technique and as a result have jumped between 7.50- 7.60m in 6 meets now this season…With good landings that should have been 7.60-7.70m or further…

I’m keeping positive though, i just need a breaktru and i think it’ll click.

Today i got a massage and iced a few times…

Legs are feeling good considering they felt SO BAD last night…The track was very very hard and with there being no board to take off from it hurt my calf and ankle a little bit…

After a massage like i had today i am interested to see if i am able to run fast tomorrow. If yes then it’ll give me a indication as to whether i can do back to back meets….

AM)
Short warm up
dynamic flex
sprint drill
hurdle drill

3x30m
3x 20m flys w/30m run in

PM)
Cleans - 6x2 (last 3 @80%)
Behind neck press + Kipping pull ups - 3x6 + 3x8
Eccentric calfs - 2x8+8
Depth jumps - 3x5

Excellent first session today. I felt really good and ended up running my best times of the season. I ran 3.66 for 30m with a 1m fly and 0.95m for fly 10m from a 35m approach style build up. So i think deep tissue massages before competitions are good for me?

Lifting went well…I’m feeling very good at the moment.

Short warm up
static flex
hurdle drills

5x short approach jumps

2x200m @26 seconds w/ 2:30 min rec

GS circuit - 30 sec on/off

Toady was kinda tough. Yesterday was a great session so body was a bit down today. Landings were pretty good overall and my new steering experiment worked. Instead of focussing on the part i DONT wanna hit i focussed on the part of the board that i DO wanna hit. And i was 4/5 legal. 200m’s were ok, first one was 25 and the other was 27.

I expect today will be the last hard session of the season as we aer staring our taper now. Also probably the last short approach jump session of season as well!

AM)
Short warm up
static flex
dynamic flex
sprint drills

5x30m sprints
3x30m speed bounding

Clean - 3x2, 3x1 @90%

PM)
Squat complex - squat - 3x3 (60,70,80%) + stiff jumps - 3x6
Bench - 4,3,2,1 - heavy

Speed is really good at the moment. Consistantly running 3.66 again. Feels really good overall. Looking forward to these 2 meets this week.
The first meet on Wed, isn’t the greatest facility (no board) with no competition so my goals are to hit 4/4 legal jumps and to jump around 7.60m. The meet on Saturday is a great facility with good competition so i am looking to jump really big there.

Short warm up
Static flex
Hurdle drills

4x 50m build ups on grass

PNF flex

Felt good on the track, really hot here today though…got treatment and ice bathed as well…

Since i’ve been home however, i keep getting these sharp pains in my right achilles…i’ve never had it before, very strange…its like my ankle and achille locked up at some points, i do ROM exercise, it cracks a lot then the pain goes away…then it comes back later on…anyone know what it may be?

Otherwise i feel very ready for my 2 meets this week.

Never had that kind of pain in the foot-area without spraining it first. I definitely feel your pain on the big fouls now though.

7.50m…AGAIN…lol

I’d say the warm up, run throughs and pop ups were the best i’ve ever felt during a meet or practice. Speed was insane. Then the meet was delayed 20 mins or so…I still felt good throughout but not quite as good as during warm ups.
Because of that and the meet on Saturday is bigger i only took 3 jumps so i can save some more for then.

Speed and take offs, i was really pleased with. My right foot dragged again on landings and i lost 20-30cm on the 7.50m jump. Knowing i can go around 7.80m without a take off board right now gives me a lot of confidence for the next few meets. I’m sure a big break through is coming!

I realise also that often i don’t quicken up my final 3-4 strides and all the good jumpers seem to do it…Something ill work on for Sat.

Not only have you been getting the same legal distances as me this season, but now are getting similar meet delays and noticing how pop-ups in the warm-up felt better than usual smile

Yeah lol,

but i’d take your landings and some decent competitions right now anyday! When i hit the landing with the take off my PR will boost up 30cm’s…

I’m patiently waiting…

I bet your left foot dragged because of reduced in flight time due to having no board.
