Split Runs

How do you periodize these in a mesocycle?  Usually people do 300, 400, or 500m splits, but as far as volume goes during a 4-week phase, how would you periodize them….or would you just kind of go with what you can do?

the only split runs i like to do which i only do in one meso is split 300's and possibly a split 400.

Id start with 3 split runs then maybee addd a forth after the first 2 weeks and then drop the 4th and maybee do a split 400 instead. 300/100

There is no real set way to periodize split runs in my mind. Just keep a record of your progress so you can see how you are improving and what works best.

So…

Week 1 - 3x300m split
Week 2 - 3x300m split
Week 3 - 4x300m split
Week 4 - 1/2x400m split

Basically is that what you're implying?  Seems logical to me….

Oh yeah, does it matter how you split them, or is it just a feel/preference thing?  (Like some may prefer 2x150 while others may like 200/100).
