driving knees

when i run i dont drive my knees up enough and im not getting a good butt kick instead of my foot coming up and back it goes half way up far back how can this be fixed

What you're describing isn't really a problem. The best sprinters typically don't actually kick their butt and those that do are doing so passively as a result of rapid upward acceleration of the thigh by the hip flexors rather than actively using the knee flexors.

So it isn't really bad to have some butt-kicking action going on?  I do so a lot of times without even thinking about it. 

Mike, if your heel does kick your butt, shouldn't it be under the butt, closer to the ham-glute insertion area rather than directly on your butt (gluteus maximus area)?
