I think there should be a link which if you can click on it will show all the recent posts that have been posted since the person’s last visit.
because when going to recent topics some of the recent topics i don’t know about get dragged down with newer topics on top.

There’s no link but when you log in the topics that are most recent have a box on the left side of it that is colored in.

I’m not sure if this is what Jay was referring to but when you log in there’s a ‘new topics’ button on the left side about 2 inches from the top of the screen. This should give you pretty close to what you want.

You’re right though, the management of new posts on this forum platform is its biggest weakness in my opinion.

Mike, is there any way to have a “active threads” button. The recent posts thing sometimes gets swamped. When I don’t check the forum for a day or so, all I see are the most recent posts. When the ethnicicy thread was going, that was all I could see.

It would be nice to see a page that listed all the most recent threads (without all the posts associated with them) so we could easily find an active thread that isn’t getting as much traffic as others. The older format had this and I really liked it…it was the page I linked to and when I hit my Elitetrack favorite button, all the active threads would be there.

exactly, what star61 said i would like to see the recent posts such as replies because recent topics only shows topics it doesn’t show new posts or new replies.
because some guy replied to one of my threads and i didn’t know until when i was going to post another thing on it.
so not only recent topics but also recent posts such replies.
thanks

I totally agree with what has been brought up so far. It is the biggest difference between cf.com and here which makes it difficult to navigate. In my opinion threads/posts seem to get lost because of it.

I haven’t looked much, but are there any site based spider engines that can see the new links created in the boards, ie new threads, and spit the info out onto a separate page for a quick fix? That way on one page we’d have new threads and recent posts?
