4 Great Reasons to Study to Become a Personal Trainer

If you’ve been toying with the idea of becoming a personal trainer for a while, you may want to think about it more seriously. People are going back to the gyms in droves, and there’s a lot of money to be made and opportunities in this industry at the moment. This is a great job if you’re looking for job stability, but also a good option for people who like to stay independent. And it’s an interesting job where you get to make a real impact on people’s lives. Let’s take a look at some of the reasons you should study to become a personal trainer.

    It’s Easy to Get In

One of the best things about becoming a personal trainer is the low barrier to entry. You could get all of your qualifications in a few months and start working either independently or for a fitness establishment. And the best part is that you could get all of your certifications online.
You could look at courses by Study Active and get everything you need to start a career in personal training. You will be able to get your gym instructor qualifications and then move to an L2 and L3 personal trainer course so you can start officially working as a personal trainer. They also have special courses for people who like to branch off into other fields like nutrition or postnatal fitness, for instance.

    You Could Be Saving Lives

Some people go to trainers because they want to look better, but some people do it because they’ve been warned that they could develop serious health conditions if they don’t start taking physical activity seriously. This is the type of client personal trainers live for, and you will get a sense of accomplishment by helping these people reach their goals.
There’s also a sense of satisfaction in seeing someone come into the gym in a morbid shape and see their bodies, minds, and spirit completely transform as they go. This is why a personal trainer is recognised as one of the most fulfilling jobs available.

    Independence

Another great thing about being a personal trainer is the level of freedom you’ll have. When you’re a personal trainer, you can decide to work 12, 24, or 36 hours per week if you want to. You can choose the type of people you want to work with as well, which is not a luxury everyone can afford.
You have personal trainers who work specifically with high-level athletes, for instance. Others work with people who suffer from obesity, or people recovering from injuries. Personal trainers can build their brands as they want and earn a living with nothing but a handful of clients. Or they can apply with their local gym and have guaranteed work. This makes personal training a great job for people who value their freedom but still want the job security of a 9 to 5.

    Get a Chance to Travel

If you’re great at what you do and are good at spreading your brand, you could get requests from people from overseas who want you to train them. This is not something all personal trainers get to experience, but those who are great at networking will often get referrals, and they can be from very important people. This could be your chance to rub shoulders with powerful personalities and even celebrities if you’re lucky and resourceful enough.
These are all reasons why you should consider studying to become a personal trainer this year. If you still have questions about qualifications and what the job is really like, we suggest that you speak with other trainers and ask them what you need to prepare for.
