World 100m record holder Asafa Powell has called for jail time for athletes found guilty of taking performance enhancing drugs.
Powell, who earlier this month was voted IAAF Male Athlete of the Year, said drugs cheats should not be allowed to get away without punishment.
"Taking drugs is illegal," said Powell, who who ran a dozen sub-10 second times this season, including the world 100m record of 9.77sec twice.
"Everyone that does illegal stuff when they get caught, they go to jail," he added. "I don't see any reason why they should look at track and field different."
