It's the New Year and many people will be making New Year's resolutions. Research evidence suggests most people don't stick to their resolution but that doesn't stop people from trying. I think part of the problem is too many people get too ambitious with their resolutions. Personally, I've never made a New Year's resolution but this year I am. Over the past year I've gained about 8 pounds. While my strength numbers have gone up accordingly I feel sluggish when I run. As a result I'm resolving to drop down to my old weight and lean up with a stricter diet. I typically eat pretty well, but because I've always worked out hard and have been blessed with a fast metabolism, I've never had to deny myself anything. Now that I'm approaching 30 though and my metabolism is slowing down, I can't rely on those two things….especially considering I haven't had the time to do as much training in the past year. So like I said, I'm tidying up my diet a little bit with the goal of dropping those 8 pounds. Now that I've put mine out there, what's your New Year's resolution?
