You’re probably asking what in the world is going in with ELITETRACK the past couple days. Well here’s the low-down:
- We went live with the public beta of ELITETRACK v. 5.0 on Sunday at around 3pm EST. This involved switching the server (the hard drive the site is located on) and changing the DNS (telling ‘the net’ where to look for the site). Typically it takes 12-36 hours for the DNS to propogate and for everything to stabilize once a server and DNS change is made.
- Everything was going well for the most part when the server that we switched the site to had a complete drive failure. See HERE for details. This meant that the new version of the site and my company’s site(hpcsport.com) which is hosted on the same server were basically non-existant.
- The host has been working to fix the issue and in the meantime I’ve put the old version of ELITETRACK back online on the OLD server until things get recreated on the new server. I’m hoping this won’t take too long and I appreciate your patience.
Note, that all this basically took down my email in all regards for both my elitetrack.com and hpcsport.com emails. I didn’t realize that this was the case until yesterday so if you sent me something since Sunday afternoon I haven’t received it and if you were expecting something from me and didn’t receive it let me know at elitetrack[at]gmail[dot]com.
