Did anyone else watch last night’s Democratic Presidential debate on CNN? It wasn’t the standard fare debate. Sure it had the usual canned questions but this one actually had some substantive battles and quite a bit of drama. How does this relate to a track and field site? Because as I was watching, I thought to myself- this thing is like a great indoor 400m race. Some people got out real hard and fast and battled heatedly for the break (Clinton and Obama); but when all was said and done it was the guy who was patient and stayed out of the fray who won the race (Edwards). Now, I’m not picking favorites here (I think they are all intelligent and worthy candidates) but it seemed Edwards won because he let the two front runners duke it out amongst themselves. Who’da thunk politics could have track parallels.
