I was stuck in the high performance center for most of the day working with coaches and athletes and maintaining the video network but I snuck away just in time to catch the finals of the men’s 100m. It was incredible. With Bobby McFarrin’s Don’t Worry, Be Happy mysteriously playing in the background (from off in the distance), Tyson Gay totally rocked a 100m field that would seem to be one of the best in history (???). His time- 9.68. Yes, NINE POINT SIX EIGHT. If I was sitting I would have fallen out of my seat. It was the fastest time ever run for the distance, eclipsing Obadale’s 9.69 from more than a decade ago. The time was winded by a 4m/s wind but stil…..NINE POINT SIX EIGHT seconds is nine point six eight seconds any way you slice it. Take a look.
