With tighter budget’s it’s important to walk away with good materials and information when attending various conferences.Where to go? Find the location that has someone representing a team or school. This weekend was a busy one and it looks like some were better than others. Also, make sure you ask or contact the director to get the people you want to speak. Many good coaches care more about the profession and will go without a huge fee but it’s important that we show some love by taking the coaches out to dinner or a small token of thanks such as a gift certificate. Supporting the coaches that should speak is not about not allowing them to be sponsored. Many good companies exist that help make the world go round so it’s not about commercialism but about the information. Another tip is to ask for workout examples on the spot or right after the presentation as every coach worth his or her salt is always working on them.
