One guy keeping the history right with Athletics is Jimson Lee from Speed Endurance. He announced the release of the classic Bud Winter book days ago, now being available on the Kindle and iPad and mobile apple options. Some people will scoff at what appears to be dated information but some of the guide is golden and timeless. What is interesting is the workouts at the end of the book, showing how longer runs at slower speeds are done in the fall, something that can be traced to what is going on with more classic programs done now. After reading it again, I got a reminder that good sprinters are great runners, and getting quality foot landings and relaxed rhythms carries over to faster speeds. Each year I make one change to my program and something that is ironed in is the ability to run with great mechanics in order to sprint properly.
