The original plan that Tuesday was to get bloodwork from the Sun City Diagnostics center and do a complete profile. But as fate turned out we were attacked that day, and instead of giving blood to get information on training that morning, many people, like myself, gave blood to save lives because of shortages. I am type O negative. That means I can give to everyone but can only receive from my blood type. I still give blood and it’s something I think teams need to do more after the season is over. When I go to the Reggie Lewis Center I drive past the Avalon Apartments, the former Park Inn hotel that the terrorists stayed at before they departed from Logan, and it reminds me that things are different now. I wasn’t sure what to write today, but instead of just saying thank you to people who risked and given their lives, I plead with you to give blood to save lives.
