One of my favorite athletes, not just track and field, is David Oliver. He is perhaps one of the classiest guys in sport and he is a professional. He is the James Bond of Hurdles and his blog is just a treat to read. I am delayed with the GPP cycles as most teams have started up training, but I am going to finish that off this weekend as I have an athlete from out of town getting tested and assessed. I suggest if you are training alone, in a less than ideal situation, or coming back from injury to read the entries of David Oliver. He understands the process and his patience is amazing. It’s not easy being great or even just getting better. Many readers on elitetrack.com are here because they need support and guidance. Technically a lot of different opinions will be raised on what to do, but remember that it’s about dedication to something that will drive success, especially in the GPP.
