I am glad I listed to Kebba and not become afraid of not doing a little of everything to cover the bases as the body only has so much resources to adapt. One of the best discussions I have read was from the Supertraining group when Henk and Charlie were debating the adaptations to tempo training with sprinters, an important topic of the fear of maladaptation. Henk was clear that capillary density didn’t increase with faster fiber types and Charlie quipped that the entire leg (type I fiber) benefited. Lately we are seeing a decrease in training time with coaches in the private sector to get more stuff done with less time for more money. You may need to spend longer in a phase or block, or reduce an incompatible unit until a measurable change occurs. Usually more time is needed is a safe bet.
